Wealth in GuyanaGuyana is rich in a sense that the country has a lot of fertile land. The government owns most of it but many people crave it to live on, farm on, use as mining, or just for the sake of owning it because they can afford it.
The government takes caution as to who they sell their land to in order to benefit the creation of jobs so families can have an income. Guyana is also wealthy in an abundance of minerals including: bauxite, diamond, and gold. These are their major exports. New explorers have discovered or uncovered the rich gold deposits. Because this has taken place, investors are now seeking Guyana which will make them a major gold producing country. The Guyana Gold Board is a major investor and known as the official buyer of gold. Within the past two years, there has been an increase in gold production which is inevitably decreasing the price of gold, which means The Board loses money. They also are known for their undeveloped resources such as copper, iron ore, manganese, nickel, plantium, and uranium. after 1999 a new government was establishd and the new president sought to get outside help to increase the exports of these. Many industries have large foreign investers with Canada, the US, UK, Portugal, Jamaica, Trinidad, China, Cuba, Singapore, Japan, Brazil, and Suriname.
